Join Us for the 2024 Kansas Range Academies!
We are excited to announce the 2024 Kansas Range Academies! This year, we will be hosting three academies across Kansas: Tallgrass, Mixed Grass, and Shortgrass. These academies provide a fantastic opportunity to deepen your understanding of rangeland management in a friendly and supportive setting, alongside fellow ranchers, land managers, range management students, and natural resource professionals.
David Kraft, Co-Coordinator for the Kansas Grazing Lands Coalition (KGLC), shares that KGLC is composed of dedicated landowners and ranchers from across the state. Our mission is to provide education and knowledge about Kansas' native grasslands.
What to Expect at the Academies
Our academies focus on a variety of crucial rangeland management topics, including:
- Plant Identification
- Calculating Stocking Rates
- Monitoring Vegetation Response
- Estimating Forage Allocation
- Comprehensive Rangeland Management
You will have the chance to learn from and network with ranchers and natural resource professionals from the NRCS and other esteemed organizations.
