Position: Coordinator for nonprofit organization, one year contractor position that is annually renewable up to September 2027 with current funding.
Location: Service area includes Comanche, Barber, Clark, Kiowa, Meade, Ford, and Pratt Counties in Kansas and Woods, Harper, Woodward, Ellis, Beaver, Alfalfa, and Major Counties in Oklahoma (see map). Applicant must live or relocate within boundaries of the service area.

Who we are: The Comanche Pool Prairie Resource Foundation (CPPRF) is a 501(c)3 organization founded in 1999 by a group of ranchers. We are a non-profit, regional grazing organization with a mission to provide demonstrations, education, and consultation to regenerate the natural resources and to promote the economic growth of the rural community across 14 counties of Kansas and Oklahoma. We are a community-based, producer-led conservation-minded organization that collaborates with numerous conservation partners. Our primary activities include providing educational outreach events, awarding scholarships, and leveraging funds for private landowners to carry out beneficial rangeland management practices. We have a long track record of community engagement and have leveraged over $4 million dollars for working lands restoration projects within one of North America’s largest contiguous native grasslands.

Job Description: As the Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our operational effectiveness and ensuring we meet our goals. The contractor will work remotely within the service area, providing all necessary equipment and transportation to perform the services. The work schedule is flexible and not considered full time. Travel will be required, as needed, within the service area to attend board meetings, events, and collaboration with external partners.
A summary of the work includes the following:
- Conduct business operations to support the organization and Board of Directors, including coordinating board meetings, completing organization reports, acting as a liaison with partners, overseeing scholarships, attending partner events, assuring 501(c)3 state and federal compliance requirements.
- Grant administration and financial oversight, overseeing aspects of current grants and reports, organizing education events and logistics for grant deliverables, identifying grant opportunities to further the mission, and writing and submitting grant proposals.
- Event management and outreach, including coordination of speakers, travel, venues, catering, and advertising. Annual events include coffee shop meetings and/or field days, ranch tours, young rancher meetings, and workshops to promote adoption of conservation practices and initiatives (i.e. Farm Bill, Southern Plains Grassland Program) that enhance prairie health, agricultural production, and rural economics. Maintain social media presence, produce press releases, and collaborate with a wide array of partnering organizations.
- Reporting and evaluation will include providing quarterly reports, annual reports, and grant reports as needed.
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficient in grant writing, administration, data tracking, and reporting
- Possess business administration skills
- Have familiarity with social media outlets
- Self-directed work in an independent setting
- Experience with rural community engagement and non-profit organizations
- Strong interpersonal, written, verbal skills, and computer skills
- Strong commitment to rural economics and natural resources
- Fluent in facilitating in-person and online meetings (i.e. Teams, Zoom, etc.)
- Ability to collaborate and engage with Conservation Districts, Extension, and other state, federal and private conservation organizations
- Strong analytical skills, adept at managing teams, projects, and event coordination
Compensation: $40,000 annually, Contractor position with no benefits.
